Welcome to the first post in my world war 1 project blog...

Through this blog I hope to document the working and findings that will inspire my first project outcome in my BA (hons) fashion design top up course.

When we were first shown the WW1 objects, I didn't feel that enthused or inspired. I thought it was going to be impossible to design a garment based on these rectangle objects! I went home and was chatting to my step mm, when she mentioned that she had a signature book from the first world war. Which was owned by a girl called Jessie, who worked at the Terrys Chocolate Factory. This instantly struck a chord with me, reading through the poems and sentimental writings of her friends and family was really inspiring!
